Frequently Asked Questions

What do I wear? Wear comfortable workout clothes fit for the weather. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and water are necessary! Sand socks (or regular socks) may be worn during the colder months. No sneakers or knee pads.

I don’t play beach volleyball. Why should I train in the sand? The fundamental skills for indoor and sand volleyball are generally the same and you’ll be required to do all of them, especially in our beach volleyball group. Playing sand volleyball can significantly improve your indoor game. Players often find playing in the sand more challenging; it is harder to run, jump, block, etc. Those who stick with it, will improve their strength, agility, and vertical jump in just a few weeks. It is also really fun!

What is the facility like? “Goulet Beach” is a private, high quality sand volleyball court behind my home surrounded by woods. We have a parking lot available for clients. Parents are welcome to watch the lesson or leave and come back.

Do I need to attend EVERY group lesson for my level? No, sign up for the dates you want.

How big are the groups? The groups are maxed out at 10. When possible, assistant coaches are added so that each athlete gets plenty of attention and feedback.

How do I register? Visit the website allanglesvolleyballtraining.com and click on any of the “Sign Up” links.

What level should I sign up for? It depends. I generally follow this guideline: Beginner: 0-1 years experience or freshman team. Intermediate: 1-2 years experience or JV team. Advanced: 2+ years experience or varsity team. U12 should sign up for Small Angles or the beginner group. College and adult players should contact me directly. If the group is not a good fit, you will be moved to the one that is!

What if I want a private group for me and my friends? No problem. You can sign up for one of the private lesson slots and split the cost between you and your friends. Email me if you need assistance finding a time slot.

What if I need to cancel a lesson? You must provide 24 hours notice if you need to cancel a lesson. This allows athletes on the waitlist to get a spot. Your payment will be refunded. Late notice will result in a partial or no refund depending on the location.

What about bad weather? I do my best to communicate via email if there is a chance for cancellation due to weather. Please check your email prior to a lesson. One rain date is included in the group pricing and sometimes can be rescheduled depending on the circumstances. We generally do not cancel for hot weather, so always be prepared with water, electrolytes, shade, etc.
